In a national study by NACUBO of 818 college and university endowments at June 30, 2017 NYU's total endowment (including the School of Medicine) was the 25th largest in total size among private universities, but 190th in endowment per student (or $89,774 per FTE student). A note on endowment performance can be found the on Investment Office web page.
Income from other auxiliary operations and real estate represents 3% of the revenue budget, while clinical income from dental patient care provides 2% of operating revenue, and all other sources of revenue total 3%. The latter category includes many relatively small items.
