Important notice about COVID-19: In light of the continued impact of COVID-19 on academic and professional organizations, the SGA Conference Fund will continue to modify its operations according to university guidelines during the 2021-2022 Academic Year. Funding support for conference travel will be allowed, though restricted according to the NYU Travel Policy, and updated accordingly. Funding support will also be allowed for the organization of conferences hosted by NYU student clubs, groups, and organizations, though restricted according to on-campus gathering regulations.

 


The Student Government Assembly (SGA), with the generous assistance of the Senior Vice-Provost for Research, manages a fund to support NYU student participation in conferences related to academic or professional development. The Conference Fund is available to all enrolled students, both undergraduate and graduate, who are seeking funding to attend or host a conference related to their academic or professional goals.

About the Conference Fund

Participating in or hosting an academic or professional conference are valuable experiences that can enrich a student’s understanding of a discipline or profession. The purpose of these grants is to aid students in meeting financial expenses associated with academic and professional development in conference settings. Beginning in the Spring 2021 semester, the SGA Conference Fund will provide two kinds of grants to support the academic and professional development of NYU Students: the Conference Attendance Grant and the Conference Organization Grant. There is a limit of one grant award per academic year. The award is not guaranteed, and requests are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. All grant recipients will be asked to submit a grant report at the end of each academic year.
