Peter Holm

Associate Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President for Strategy and Planning

Peter Holm is Associate Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President for Strategy and Planning. His responsibilities include shaping, integrating, and assessing progress on University priorities and initiatives; promoting the use of data and analysis to inform strategic decision-making; and leading or coordinating special projects to advance the President’s agenda.

Prior to joining the President’s Office, Peter was Assistant Vice President for Global Planning and Research in the Office of the Provost, where he worked closely with the Office of Global Programs to advance a range of global network initiatives and shape NYU’s study away offerings to meet evolving needs.

Peter first joined the university in 2014 at NYU Abu Dhabi, where he served as Senior Director for Strategy, Planning, and Development. Earlier in his career, he was a Program Examiner in the White House Office of Management and Budget and a Presidential Management Fellow in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Swarthmore College, a Master of European Politics degree from Lund University in Sweden, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
