Timeline for Visa Requests
In order to ensure that Scholar Services is able to submit a petition for H-1B, E-3, TN, or O-1 status in a timely manner, please follow the timelines listed below to select achievable start dates for employees requiring visa sponsorship. If requests or documents are unable to be submitted within these time frames, Scholar Services is unable to guarantee that the petition will be filed and approved by the requested start date. Scholar Services will provide you with a later, reasonable start date if this is the case. If this is an urgent last minute case, you have the option to obtain a NYU-affiliated outside counsel (at additional cost) to assist. Please contact Scholar Services for a list of NYU-affiliated outside counsel.
All start dates for O-1, H-1B, E-3 and TN petitions assume the premium processing fee is being paid to USCIS. If premium processing is not being used, processing times must be considered to ensure a realistic start date for the employee.
If the employee is located outside the US, start dates will vary based on visa processing at the US embassy or consulate abroad.
