Re: Severe Weather and Class Attendance
Sometimes severe weather disrupts University programming. Whenever this happens, advisories are issued to the entire University community, and information about closings and changes to University operations is posted at NYU’s Info Alert page and appears as a banner on NYU’s website.
Should a severe weather event occur this fall, the University may decide to move in-person teaching temporarily to an online format, rather than canceling classes. In such cases, all classes would be expected to take place at their scheduled times; the only difference being that in-person class sessions would be held online until further notice.
For all other weather-related scenarios, we rely on the good judgment of faculty and students to come up with common-sense solutions. This is also in keeping with the enhanced flexibility that the University is adopting in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have any concerns, please consult with your Dean or department chair.
