NYU Returns: Quick Update
Date: January 7, 2022
To: THE NYU COMMUNITY
From: Katherine Fleming, Provost
Martin Dorph, Exec. Vice President
Dr. Carlo Ciotoli, Exec. Lead, COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team
A reminder that all members of the NYU community are required to get a booster shot and upload proof by January 18, 2022. If you have already received the booster and haven’t uploaded, please upload proof ASAP. (The relatively small percentage of NYUers who are not currently eligible should get their booster within seven days of becoming eligible).
Getting a booster shot is vital to keeping each other safe from COVID-19 and will be essential for carefully and successfully carrying out our academic mission in the face of COVID-19’s variants.
We know there is a lot of interest in our plans for the spring semester.
The leadership of the University—including the President’s and Provost’s Offices, the Deans of the Schools, and the administrative units—are actively working together on the issues right now. Guided by a commitment to the health and safety of the University community, we’re taking account of the academic needs of particular schools and programs and examining public health data and guidance.
We expect to communicate plans sometime next week. Individual schools and programs will follow up with specific guidance as necessary.
Stay safe and healthy. Get your booster. For those of you still on break—enjoy yourself, but take care.
We will be back in touch with you next week.
