Announcing Paulette Gonzalez-Sierchio as the next Executive Director of the Wasserman Center for Career Development

Dear Colleagues,

After an extensive global search, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Paulette Gonzalez-Sierchio as the next executive director at NYU’s Wasserman Center for Career Development!

Paulette comes to NYU from St. John’s University where she most recently served as assistant vice president for university career services. During her time at St. John’s Paulette set an ambitious vision to ensure 100% of students received career support, established a mentoring initiative that matched hundreds of students with alumni each year, and oversaw the development of a national alumni employer network. Beyond her core work in career services, Paulette served on the university’s artificial intelligence task force, the MSCHE 2025 self-study team, the university’s strategic priority review team, and the cross-campus DEI practitioner cohort. Additionally, she served as the inaugural director of the Justice Initiative Program, creating access to higher education for formerly incarcerated students. Paulette started her career in higher education as the associate director of individual giving at St. Francis College in 2012 after a successful career in banking where she rose to leadership as a senior vice president at Capital One.

Faculty, staff, and students who had the opportunity to meet Paulette during her visit to NYU were impressed by her passion for equity, inclusion, and student success; her deep curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning; and her extensive experience building transformative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Paulette’s first day will be Monday, June 3rd. Please join me in welcoming her to NYU!

All the best,
