Our Aim

The Office of the Provost is launching NYU’s All-University Climate Change Initiative. Harnessing the expertise of our faculty and NYU’s thriving research enterprise, we plan to face climate crises head-on by fostering interdisciplinary research, innovative teaching, collaborative partnerships with government and industry, and academic and professional opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Spring 2021 Event: Climate Connections

The initiative kicked off on Friday, April 23 with a two-hour virtual event, Climate Connections. We welcomed faculty, graduate students, and researchers from all three portals, who tuned in to discuss the Climate Change Initiative and its priorities: Food, Water, Environmental Justice, and the Protection of Ecosystems.

Other priorities will be designated soon, based on the research and interests of the NYU community discussed at the kickoff event.

We thank all those who attended for their enthusiasm, candor, and creative contributions!

More to Come

Over the 2021-2022 academic year, we will be adding more events, posting research news and breakthroughs, and adding resources for faculty, students, and other partners at NYU.
