Director of Strategy, Academic Assessment and Accreditation
As Director of Strategy, Alex provides leadership support for the Office of the Provost to maintain ongoing University-wide institutional accreditation, grow the caliber of the NYU academic assessment system, and generate and support strategies that promote integrated, collaborative workflows that effectively manage NYU’s global strategy for academic compliance. As a change management and strategy development expert, she provides significant consultation and guidance to senior administrators (e.g. Associate Deans) overseeing academic affairs at each of NYU’s schools and degree-granting campuses, serving as a subject expert in accreditation, academic assessment and federal and state authorization policy.
Alex’s long-standing support of the Office Academic Program Review and Assessment and the NYU community, beginning as a Program Director in 2017, has been deeply informed by her previous work as a higher education innovator in the non-profit space. As a key early leader at the Warrior-Scholar Project, a veteran’s organization that provides intensive college-preparatory academic boot camps for transitioning service members in partnership with top US universities, Alex helped design and oversee the operational and programmatic strategy and growth of the organization. She was appointed Managing Director in 2015, following her successful oversight of the organization’s national expansion during which time she collaborated with and managed 12 pilot program teams at universities including Yale, Harvard, and University of Chicago.
Alex has a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Humanities from Yale University, with a focus in Arts & Politics in Early Modern England. She was also a Division I NCAA All-American Swimmer and USA Winter National Championship Silver Medalist.
