Senior Analyst, Academic Authorization

AJ Bayer serves as Senior Analyst, Academic Authorization in the Office of the Provost (within the Office of Academic Program Review & Assessment) at New York University (NYU). In this role, they support the Director of Academic Authorization by providing analytical and operational support to facilitate ongoing New York State Education Department (NYSED) & multi-state authorization compliance across all NYU programs.

AJ comes to the Office of the Provost from the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development where they partnered with key stakeholders in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness for the development, revision, and continuous improvement of all undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. They were responsible for advising and consulting with Steinhardt faculty and program directors to develop, revise, and implement curricula that aligned with NYU’s institutional goals and mission and ensured compliance with appropriate standards for professional licensure, accreditation, and student success. Prior to this role, AJ worked at Oscar Health where they optimized processes to streamline healthcare access for all, including marginalized groups.

AJ holds a baccalaureate degree in Music Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is currently a part-time graduate student in the M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs program at NYU Steinhardt.
