The PSO Toolkit is designed to equip project teams with the tools necessary to successfully deliver projects, ensuring a standard approach is applied. Initiate

Identify the business case, scope, timeline and deliverables.

During the first phase of the project lifecycle, the project's justification, objectives, scope and deliverables are defined with enough clarity for the Executive Steering Committee and Project Sponsor(s) to determine whether to approve the project.

Plan

Plan for the various phases of the project.

The goal of the Planning phase is to produce documentation that will guide the project team in completing the analysis, development, testing, and deployment of the product. During this phase, the Change Management team will also begin assessing end user impact and an approach for communication, engagement and training.

Understand the expectations and requirements of the application and design.

This phase in the project lifecycle defines specific functionality to be delivered by the system, system interactions, and detailed interface designs.

Develop

Build the application according to requirements and specifications.

This purpose of the development phase is to translate the requirements into a working application which addressed all documented specifications.

Test

Conduct functional unit and end user testing.

This phase in the project lifecycle involves thoroughly testing the solution by subject matter experts and end users and documenting any anomalies.

Deploy

Conduct training, prepare for go-live and plan end user support.

In this phase, users trained on the final configured application, go-live planning is discussed and documented and a post-implementation support plan and operational support model are established.
