How To Adopt Course Materials
To select your course materials, simply do the following:
1. Go to brightspace.nyu.edu.
2. Select “NYU Bookstore” on the menu at the top.
3. Click on your upcoming term and the classes you are registered to teach
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and use "Quick Re-Adopt" if you've used the same books in the past.
5. If you are new to the course, enter the ISBN, title, or author to search for the book/material you want to use.
6. If you do not plan to adopt any materials, please let the Bookstore know so it can list the class as "No texts required“

What is textbook adoption?
Textbook adoption is the formal name for the materials Faculty specify for the course.
Why is it important to submit course material requests so early?
Timely adoption submissions present a low-effort, high-impact opportunity for reducing the cost of textbooks. In order to fully maximize student savings opportunities, faculty members need to submit their adoptions for the upcoming term by the designated due date.
When the campus store knows that a particular title has been readopted for the following term, it is able to offer students as much as 50% of the purchase price to buy back their book and stock for the next term’s students.
Timing of submissions also impacts inventory. We stock our shelves based on the course material adoptions for that term, ensuring that every book needed in the classroom is available for purchase. The ability to source used editions provides a substantial savings opportunity to students as these books are often priced 25% off the cost of new. Used books are sourced not only from the local campus but also from their network of 2,000+ stores. It is important to note that since used books are limited, campus store orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis.
How does on-time adoption support student success?
On time adoption ensures that all adopted materials are available when students are ready to purchase. As well, it enables students to obtain required materials before the term starts, making them ready to learn from day one.
What if I want to request digital materials (Follett Access)?

Once I put in my requistion is it final? Can I make a change?
Changes can be made. Note that depending on the request the arrival date may be delayed and the cost may be higher for students.
