Cathie Nadeau
Cathy joined NYU as Vice President for Budget and Financial Planning & Analysis in December 2018. Leading a team responsible for providing analysis and recommendations on financial planning in alignment with institutional goals and objectives, she partners with NYU leadership to drive the transformation of NYU’s planning and budgeting approaches and shape how the University makes financial decisions. An operationally-focused finance executive and trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, she has a strong track record of delivering short- and long-term financial goals.
Before joining NYU, Cathy had a distinguished 20+ year career with Xerox. In her role as Chief Transformation Officer (appointed by the CEO), she oversaw an enterprise-wide strategic program that captured cost savings and improvements in cash generation and operating margin, and was a key player in the successful transformation of the global Fortune 500 company undergoing rapid and disruptive change. Serving as Director, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, she led all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including annual planning, quarterly outlooks, long-range planning, and balance sheet management. Using a collaborative approach in a decentralized organization, she partnered with heads of operations to provide timely insightful analysis, reliable financial projections and creative solutions to organizational opportunities and challenges.
She started her career as a Public Accountant at Ernst & Young in Montreal, Canada.
Cathy earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester Simon Graduate School of Business, a Master of Science in Accounting from the Université du Quebec in Montreal, and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the Université de Montreal Hautes Etudes Commerciales. A Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada (equivalent to the U.S. CPA), she is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
