Wilnelia Gutierrez is the chief operating officer (COO) and chief of staff (COS) in the Office of Global Inclusion. In her role as COO/CoS, Wilnelia serves on OGI’s Senior Leadership Team and directly supports Dr. Lisa Coleman—our senior vice president for Global Inclusion and Strategic Innovation—and is responsible for building coherence and ensuring operational excellence across OGI. Wilnelia was most recently the chief of staff in University Relations and Public Affairs at NYU. She began her professional career at NYU over 22 years ago and has excelled as a leader in higher education and beyond. Wilnelia’s exemplary work across organizational management and development makes her the ideal candidate to join the team at this particular juncture in OGI’s five-year developmental history.

Wilnelia holds a BA in politics from the NYU College of Arts and Science and an MPA specializing in nonprofit management from the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She is a native of the Dominican Republic and has lived in New York City for the majority of her life. She has a deep commitment to globally diverse education, and as an example of her many interests outside of her work at NYU, Wilnelia serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School.
