Enjoy the Long Weekend
Date: April 15, 2021
TO: The NYU Community
FROM: Andrew Hamilton, President; Katherine Fleming, Provost and Martin Dorph, Exec. Vice President
Monday, April 19 is a day off for most of the NYU community — most classes will not be held, and most University offices will be closed.
This is supposed to be a break. Faculty are reminded and encouraged to avoid scheduling tests or assignments that will require academic work over the weekend. Managers and supervisors are encouraged to leave the weekend free for their colleagues to relax.
Student vaccinations will not be given on Monday (those nurses and doctors could use a day off, too); they will resume on Tuesday, April 20. Testing will carry on at the Bonomi Center site.
Please note: Employees performing essential duties are expected to report as usual. Some schools, programs, and offices will need to carry on as usual on Monday. Where local guidance differs from the University guidance on being open vs. being closed, follow the local guidance. And those who do have to work should be in touch with their HROs about addressing having to work on a University holiday.
The weather is starting to get warmer, and trees and flowers are beginning to bloom. Relax, get some rest, and enjoy the long weekend.
