1831 committee members table at an event

Why Give?

  1. You’ll have a chance to enjoy exclusive 1831 Fund donor benefits like special invites to 1831 Fund events, NYU swag, food, and more!
  2. You’ll build a community of giving at NYU by showing you care about the classmates that follow you — your future fellow alumni!
  3. By participating in giving, you impact the University’s ranking and therefore, increase the value of the degree you are working so hard to earn.

Meet the 2022-2023 leadership team!

Melanie Torres

Melanie Torres (Steinhardt '23) is a senior studying global public health and applied psychology. As a scholarship recipient herself, she knows firsthand that student philanthropy is so important because it sets a standard for the future.

Tina Panda

Tina Panda (CAS '23) is a senior from Calcutta, India, studying politics on a pre-law track at NYU. She joined the Fund as she was passionate about giving back to the NYU community after getting financial aid to attend the school of her dreams. She is also a Senator at large for International Students and Students facing Basic Needs Insecurity. In her free time, she loves to play with dogs and write poetry.
