How to Enroll - Visiting Students


Individuals who are not currently pursuing a degree at NYU may register for January Term 2012 if you have a high school diploma or equivalent prior to January 3, 2012 and have met course specific prerequisites. January Term registration is now closed.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria or have questions about whether or not you may still participate, please contact the Office of University Programs at 212-998-2292 or special.sessions@nyu.edu.

Last day of active waitlists. The waitlists will be purged by 11:59 pm EST.

Course add/drops must be done in person on Wednesday, January 4th at the Office of University Programs (18 Washington Place).

Add/Drop: Permission in writing from the professor, then an authorized signature from the Office of University Programs is required to add or drop a class.

Students should get signatures FIRST at 18 Washington Place.

Visiting Student Add/Drop/Cancellation Process and Refund Schedule

All January Term add/drop requests must be made in person at the Office of University Programs, 18 Washington Place, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST, phone 212-998-2292.

When dropping a class, be sure to check the refund schedule. A grade of "W" will be issued beginning on the 4th calendar day (1/6/12) of the session.


Visiting Student 2012 Payment Calendar:


Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 - Monday, Dec. 9, 2011

Payment must be made by December 9th.

Students will receive an e-bill within 2 business days, sent to their NYU email account.

Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2011 to Thursday, Dec. 22 2011

Payment must be made within 2 business days of of receiving your e-bill, which will be sent to your NYU email account.

Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 Last day to drop with no financial penalty.

Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 (4pm) -
Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012

University closed.
*Payments can be made online through Albert during this time.
Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012

Payment can be made on-line or in person at the Student Services Center
