How to Enroll - Visiting Students


Individuals who are not currently pursuing a degree at NYU may register for January Term if you have a high school diploma or equivalent prior to January 7, 2013 and have met course specific prerequisites.

Once you have determined whether you are eligible to register, please submit the January Term on-line registration form. *The 2014 January Term visiting student application will be available on October 1, 2013. Students may enroll for a maximum of 4 credits during January Term.

Add/Drop: Permission in writing from the professor, then an authorized signature from the Office of University Programs is required to add or drop a class.

Students should bring written permission to 18 Washington Place for signature.

Visiting Student Add/Drop/Cancellation Process and Refund Schedule

All January Term add/drop requests must be made in person at the Office of University Programs, 18 Washington Place, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST, phone 212-998-2292.

When dropping a class, be sure to check the refund schedule. A grade of "W" will be issued beginning on the 4th calendar day (1/11/13) of the session.

Tuition

The cost of each course is located on the View Courses page next to the course title and in the 'Notes' section of the Albert course search. You will receive an e-bill for your January Term course, which can be accessed via your Student Center on Albert after you have registered for your course. Payments should be submitted online to the Office of the Bursar. For more information on methods of payment, click here. December 13 is the last day to drop with no financial penalty.
