How to Apply for January Term Housing:
Please review the information below to determine how to request housing during January Term classes.
NYU Students who have a Fall 2011 & Spring 2012 NYU Housing license:
NYU students with both a Fall 2011 & Spring 2012 NYU Housing license may continue to stay in their existing residence hall assignment during January Term for no additional charge and do not need to complete any application.
NYU students who have only a Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 NYU Housing license:
NYU students who have only a Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 NYU Housing license (e.g. fall residents leaving for spring study abroad, new spring residents etc.) may request housing during January Term by sending an email to housing.january.term@nyu.edu (no other application form is required and there is no additional charge). Please include your name, University ID number and NYU Housing assignment information in the email. (All requests must be made by December 15, 2011).
Residents who only have a Fall 2011 NYU Housing license may be required to relocate from their Fall 2011 housing assignment to another room within NYU Housing. Fall 2011 residents must check out after their January Term classes have ended, no later than 12 Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
NYU Students who do not have a Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 NYU Housing license:
NYU students who do not have a Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 NYU Housing license and are registered for January Term classes can complete the January Term Housing Application through their NYU home account (click on the ‘NYU Life’ tab, then on ‘NYU Housing and Meal Plan Forms’).
Visiting students attending January Term:
Students interested in NYU January Term housing should indicate their interest in housing on the 2012 online January Term registration form, which will be available October 2012. Once the registration form is submitted, you will be emailed instructions to complete the online housing application.
Please note that available spaces are likely to be in shared bedrooms within apartments that have been occupied by residents for several months prior to your arrival. To help you get acquainted with your temporary roommate, you’ll receive his or her email address as soon as your housing assignment has been made. Since January Term takes place during the intersession between Fall and Spring sessions, your NYU roommate may be away for this period, or may come and go from his/her NYU Residence assignment for periods of varying length.
