I'm having trouble logging in using Dreamweaver ...what can I do?
I've logged into i4 with SSH, but I can't seem to connect using Dreamweaver. What can I do?
Please note, ITS does not distribute or support the use of Dreamweaver, and the NYU Web Team does not provide configuration instructions to access i4.nyu.edu. You may wish to consult Adobe's Help Documentation.
The IP address of i4 has recently changed. Therefore, if you previously used Dreamweaver to connect to i4, you will need to clear any saved i4 host keys (in a file called 'ssh_hosts') from your program.
Depending on your operating system, you will find the ssh_hosts file in the one of the following locations:
where <user> above is your system username.
Windows XP and 2000
where <user> above is your system username. To access the file, go to the "Start" menu and select "Run". Copy the path above (with your username substituted for <user> above) and click "OK". You may be presented with a dialog box asking you with which application you wish to open the file. Select Notepad and continue.
Windows 98 SE:
Edit the "ssh_hosts" file using a text editor. Remove the line(s) referring to "i4.nyu.edu" or any instance of the IP address 220.127.116.11. Then try reconnecting. Alternately, you should be able to delete this file entirely and have Dreamweaver recreate it for you.
If this process does not work, try connecting using the hostname devwww.nyu.edu instead of i4.nyu.edu.
