The Village

Rich in culture, alive with energy, the Village is known as one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods. Greenwich Village has a history of intellectual adventure, having been home to a long list of important artists, writers, and thinkers; and was central to the bohemian culture and the Beat Generation. Now, the Village is home to hundreds of cafes, restaurants, shops and music clubs, and still retains its strong and diverse cultural heritage. NYU students enjoy the liveliness of Greenwich Village; University programs both in and outside the classroom are inextricably intertwined in the NYU experience.
