City Resources

What's happening in NYC? The options are endless. Here are a few sites we think will help give you up-to-date information about NYC events, culture, and entertainment.

  • NYC Events Calendar – from street festivals and concerts to museum exhibitions and citywide celebrations, the NYC events calendar is your guide to major New York City events.
  • NYC Museums – all the NYC museums you know, and many you don't—plus information on NYC children's museums, zoos, aquariums, and gardens, and a guide to free museum hours and times.
  • NYC Parks – over 1,500 parks and recreation spaces are managed by the city and each has special programs, events, and opportunities for learning and volunteering.
  • Tickets & Theatre – NYU's Ticket Central box office has discount tickets to Broadway, as well as NYC music, opera, dance, sports events, and movie tickets.
  • Hopstop.com – if you need to know how to get where you're going in NYC, try Hopstop.com, the urban answer to Mapquest, with door-to-door directions via subway, bus, or by foot.
  • The Student's City Guide – A guide for NYU students to New York City resources and events
  • Broke Student's Guide – This Guide has been assembled by students and staff at NYU, all of whom have had firsthand experience living in the city with limited funds. We don't claim that this is an exhaustive compilation of NYC activities and discounts, but it's pretty darn close!!
