Unlike a university whose campus is separated by gates or walls, NYU is very much in and of New York City. Nothing isolates the experiences at NYU from the outside world - our buildings and facilities are another part of a busy metropolis with which we share the streets, sidewalks, parks, and trains. It's nearly impossible to tell where the city begins and the University ends.

The center of NYU is its Washington Square campus in the heart of Greenwich Village, and the University truly is part of New York City. There are no campus gates and no quad; rather, NYU buildings are situated on city blocks, marked with purple flags. Use these maps to help you get to NYU and to get around once you arrive.
