Parents Day
New York University, together with the undergraduate schools, coordinates Parents Day each year in the Fall semester for the parents of new undergraduate students. This year's Parents Day will take place on Saturday, October 20th. The day is designed to give parents of first-semester students an overview of NYU and to acquaint them with their son's or daughter's academic program. A few of the afternoon workshops that will be presented include career services, studying abroad, and the freshman and sophomore residential experiences, followed by a reception hosed by the NYU Parents Committee and NYU President John Sexton.
Going to college is an exciting time for students and parents alike. As a parent, you can support your student by being involved and supportive, and empowering him to make new friends, stay on top of her coursework, and utilize University resources. You can also provide support by directing your student to a variety of University resources when she needs them, and encouraging him to reach out for assistance. The Parent's Guide website will provide you with a wide variety of resources to help make your student's experience at NYU successful, and at the same time help you be an informed parent.
