You’ve heard the term everywhere, and sharing of files has become nearly ubiquitous…But, what exactly is a podcast and how do you get your content turned into one?

A podcast is a digital media file (usually audio and/or video) that is distributed over the web for playback portable media players on computers. What makes podcasts different from streaming media or webcasts is that people can "subscribe" to podcasts by submitting the feed address to an aggregator like iTunes or they can download it from a link provided on your website. By subscribing, users can download the file directly to a computer. When new content or "episodes" become available in the podcast, they will be downloaded to that user's computer automatically.
