The TV and Media Services department was established in the early 90s when it became apparent on campus that there was a need to provide cable and video production services to the university community. Over the years, the department has evolved and encompasses three different collaborative departments: NYU-TV, the Television Center, and Campus Cable.
NYU-TV Network is the universityís closed-circuit television network, which also distributes content on the web. Campus Cable is a private closed-circuit cable system that provides local, basic cable, and NYU-TV to students, faculty, and staff residing in the residence halls of NYU. The system operates from a head-end located in the Pless Annex of the Education building. From there, the signal is distributed via microwave to assorted buildings across the Manhattan campus.
