» Graphics Designer
Description:
Student position for graphics designer to create Flash animations for NYU-TV’s Happenings Channel event listings and websites. May also design broadcast graphics, web, and promotional materials.
NYU-TV is the university’s closed-circuit cable television network.
The primary responsibilities will be to create animations to promote events for air on NYU-TV’s Happenings Channel, and for use on three NYU TV & Media websites. Your work will be highly visible to the campus population, as NYU-TV is seen in residence halls, public spaces, and academic offices throughout the campus.
In addition, the TV & Media websites: NYU-TV, The Television Center, and Campus Cable, have been redesigned and were launched for Fall 2007. You’ll be part of a team of designers, working together to build NYU-TV’s television and web presence. This is a great opportunity to work across media platforms – designing for broadcast television and the web – and to contribute to establishing the new brand identity for NYU-TV.
Other responsibilities may include designing broadcast graphics for videos or video streaming projects; creating promotional materials for print, and researching new technologies and software to improve the visual presentation of NYU-TV. Hours:
Part-time student employment (approx. 20 hours) Summer 2008 only.
Skill Requirements:
Must have strong graphic design and/or art background.
Proficiency using Flash, Flash Action Script, PhotoShop, HTML, Illustrator.
Working knowledge of Flash Video.
Knowledge of SCALA broadcast media & digital signage a plus (will train if needed).
Excellent ability to work across multiple platforms.
Strong attention to detail necessary.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Quicktime, and DVD authoring a plus.
Experience designing graphics for video/TV also valuable.
»Broadcast Graphics Designer
Description:

»WebMaster/Graphics Designer
Description:
Student position for a webmaster/graphics designer to design elements for and update three NYU TV & Media websites.
NYU-TV is the university’s closed-circuit cable television network. The primary responsibilities will be to create promotional elements and to update content for three NYU TV & Media websites: NYU-TV, the Television Center, and Campus Cable. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor, as you will be contributing to establishing the brand identity for NYU-TV, which will cross multiple platforms – web, print, and broadcast design. The websites will be incorporating streaming, Flash, and Flash video, and exploring new ways of promoting content on both television and the web. You’ll be part of a team of designers, working together to build NYU-TV’s television and web presence.
Other responsibilities may include designing broadcast graphics for videos or video streaming projects; creating Flash animations for NYU-TV Happenings Channel, creating promotional materials for print, and researching new technologies and software to improve the visual presentation of NYU-TV.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must!

»Video Editor/Segment Producer
Description:
Student position for video editor/segment producer
The primary responsibility is to edit video programs for the NYU-TV Network. Students will be given style guidelines for editing educational segments, programs, lectures, university events, promos, and more…In addition, student may be asked to produce short segments for air on NYU-TV or to assist with field and studio productions at the NYU Television Center.
Hours:
Part-time student employment (10-20 hours per week, flexible hours); two term commitment required (at least one full academic year).
Skill Requirements:
Background in video required.
Must be proficient in Final Cut Pro HD, Mac OSX, Photoshop and After Effects a plus.
Experience with Quicktime and DVD authoring also recommended.
Bonus Skills:
Must have good communication skills, be a self-starter, strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast paced, environment under deadline.
