Audiovisual Collections for Non-Specialist Librarians: Italy, August 2009; Puerto Rico, August 2011; Singapore 2013
In conjunction with the annual meeting of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), every two years MIAP Director Howard Besser conducts a daylong workshop on audiovisual conservation aimed at librarians who are not yet specialists in this subject.

Safeguarding of Sound and Image Collections (SOIMA): Brazil 2007, India 2009, Latvia/Lithuania 2011
In collaboration with the leading international organization for conservation of all types of materials (ICCROM), MIAP faculty have helped organize a biennial month-long intensive workshop on audiovisual conservation. Designed for professionals working in mixed collections (national libraries, museums, and archives), these workshops have trained professionals from over 60 institutions in 50 countries.

This week-long workshop on Conservation of audiovisual works on digital media was organized by Conservator Fernando Osorio and MIAP graduate Natalia Fidelholtz. The event was co-sponsored by Mexico's Cineteca Nacional, Centro Nacional de las Artes, Centro Cultural de España en México, Centro Multimedia, and Fundaçion Televisa. Major participants included MIAP Faculty Howard Besser and Kara van Malssen.
