Audio Preservation Basics

Tom Regal, Manager of Audio Restoration Services at Universal's BluWave Audio division, will be discussing the different processes involved in audio restoration as part of a guest lecture in the Department of Cinema Studies.

BluWave Audio, a division of Universal Studios Sound Department, is an 18,000 square foot facility dedicated to Digital Mastering, Sound Track Restoration, Digital Transfer, and Trailer Mixing. BluWave's restoration department is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of audio in a manner that maintains the integrity of the original masters, and focuses on the needs of the archival and restoration community specializing in the habits and tools of audio work.
 

This event is free and open to the NYU community although seating is limited. Seating is available on a first come first served basis.
