The archive at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts holds an amazing collection of materials, chronicling the history of the acting profession since the school's founding in 1884. In the last year, the archives were relocated to a specially designated room for study, but the many documents, photos, and audiovisual materials are rarely accessed. During my internship, I researched standards and strategies AADA can adopt to better manage their archives. I also compiled a finding aid for the audiovisual materials assessed by my classmate Caitlin Hammer. Our efforts in the archive are first steps towards revealing the value of the archive to the students at AADA and the public.
