David ByrneÕs prolific output as a recording, performance and visual artist is complied into a personal archive that is actively accessed. Peter Oleksik worked alongside Sarah Resnick (MIAP Õ07) organizing and cataloging everything from analog audio cassettes and digital audio tape (DAT) to posters and the print materials from ByrneÕs Luaka Bop label from the late 1980s. Oleksik researched the best way to transfer DATs (now obsolete) to digital files, and encountered what he called Òsome bizarre audio formatsÓ, helping the archive to identify them and find solutions for their long-term care.
