CUNY TV is an operational television station and production studio with a vast archive of internally and externally produced programs dating back several decades. The first half of the semester primarily consisted of collection management tasks such as an extensive inventory of video tapes and detailed cataloging of these materials.
The second half of the internship focused on the digitization of 1/4" open reel and their accompanying scripts. Throughout the internship, I also had the opportunity to learn basic BASH scripting, gaining familiarity with editing and running scripts and the programs Fraise and GitHub. Additionally, I learned the internal operations of various video decks and how to safely clean them.
