Wyatt Gallery, BFA 1997
Wyatt Gallery was the recipient of the department’s 1997 Daniel Rosenberg Travel Fellowship, enabling him to travel to the Caribbean, where he began his project Spiritual Sites. He received a Fulbright scholarship for this work in Trinidad and the project grew into a five-year journey. His work focuses on exposing the viewer to the culture and history seen through religious and secular sites, with recent photographs including portraits of people coming from and going to their places of worship. He has had solo shows in the Caribbean and the United States. He has been profiled for “30 under 30, Young Photographers to Watch,” Photo District News, and has been selected for “25 under 25, Photographers in the US,” (The Center of Documentary Studies at Duke University). His photographs have been included in Photo District News, the New York Times, Newsweek, and Mother Jones among others. He is currently the Creative Director of the new travel magazine Carribbean Lifestyles and will teach photography at the University of Pennsylvania in the Fall 2002 semester. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
