Serene Ford, BFA 1998
Serene Ford received the department’s 1998 Rosenberg Travel Fellowship, enabling her to produce the photographic project entitled I’m The Girl Who Survived The War: Photographs From Vietnam, in which she went to Vietnam for the first time with her mother who was making a return after twenty-seven years. She has continued to travel and photograph and her projects have ranged from an essay on a military training camp in Israel, to a skin bleaching series in Ghana, a project she plans to expand to other countries in Africa. Between her travels, she works as a photo assistant and production coordinator for Magnum Photos and other photographers. She lives in New York City.
