Terry Boddie, BFA 1989
Immigrating to the United States in 1980 from the eastern Carribean island of Nevis, Boddie received his MFA in 1997 from Hunter College. His series of mixed media images entitled The Residue of Memory explores the physical, metaphysical, historical, and contemporary nature of memory and migration. These images blur the distinctions between photography, drawing and painting. Recently, Boddie has expanded his media to include installation and online work. He is a recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and has completed residencies at Longwood Cybe in th Bronx, the Center for Photography at Woodstock and the Studio Museum in Harlem. His work has been exhibited at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Studio Museum in Harlem and Smack Mellon Gallery and reviewed in The New York Times, NY Arts and Kunstbeeld. He lives and works in New York City.
