Second Year

Students entering the Second Year of Technical Production Track are expected to choose two focus areas from the following seminars:

• Scenic Design
• Costume Design
• Lighting Design
• Sound Design
• Management

Each of these courses builds upon the basic information provided by the first year training. Coursework is structured to develop more elaborately scaled production, improve specialized communication skills and deepen the student's understanding of the role of production personnel in the creative process.

In addition to focus classes, second year students also participate in Figure Drawing, Rendering and Visualization, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Entertainment Law and Contracts and Careers in the Arts classes. In the Fall semester, Tech Track students study script analysis in the fall and in the spring, the students study directing.

The Faculty of the Technical Production Track are professional designers, managers, directors and technicians of the New York world of performing arts.

All of this work takes place in the Tisch School of the Arts Facility located at 721 Broadway in Greenwich Village of New York City.
