Instructor: Lenore Doxsee
This course is designed to introduce the student to some of the many cultural resources of New York City while developing his or her research skills, with an emphasis on image-based research. Assignments include visits to various museums and libraries, including The Picture Collection, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Performing Arts Library and others. The students are encouraged to expand their thinking about potential sources for design research. Students will make oral presentations of their findings, as though presenting research at a design meeting. Organizational skills as well as presentation skills will be honed.
