Denise Cooper

Biography

DENISE COOPER is a Producer, General Manager and Company Manager whose professional New York theatrical career has spanned the past thirty years. Denise has managed over fifty Off Broadway and Broadway productions. She has managed shows on Broadway for the Manhattan Theatre Club including the Pulitzer Prize-winning RABBIT HOLE and LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, the 1995 Tony Award winner for Best Play.  Her commercial theatre credits include: THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES; TABLETOP; THE MOST FABULOUS STORY EVER TOLD; COMMUNICATING DOORS; the Boston premieres of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH and THE IRISH AND HOW THEY GOT THAT WAY; COWGIRLS; THE O'NEILL PLAYS: LONG DAYS JOURNEY INTO NIGHT and AH! WILDERNESS starring Colleen Dewhurst and Jason Robards; LYPSINKA! A DAY IN THE LIFE; OIL CITY SYMPHONY; and, the North American tour of COOKIN'.  Denise produced Klea Blackhurst's two solo shows: EVERYTHING THE TRAFFIC WILL ALLOW and AUTUMN IN NEW YORK: VERNON DUKE'S BROADWAY, as well as their CD recordings, and she manages Klea’s national and international solo bookings. For the past two seasons, Denise has been the Company Manager for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s productions on Broadway at Studio 54 managing such shows as the multiple Tony Award nominated revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, PAL JOEY starring Stockard Channing, and WAITING FOR GODOT starring Nathan Lane, Bill Irwin, John Glover and John Goodman.  In the Fall of 2009 she is managing the first Broadway revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE at the new Henry Miller’s Theatre, Broadway’s first “green” theatre.
