NYU Ticket Central is NYU’s clearinghouse for tickets to the movies, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, sporting events, musical concerts and more, all at a reduced price.
Love the theatre?
Through our relationships with the Theatre Development Fund and Broadway.com among other outlets, Ticket Central has been able to purchase tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows at up to a 75% discount, and then resell these tickets to NYU students, faculty and staff at these great savings.
For example, Ticket Central recently was able offer the NYU community tickets for orchestra seats to the popular plays and musicals such as Rent, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Talk Radio for under $35! These seats sell to the public for nearly $100. Other shows that Ticket Central has been able to purchase tickets for at a substantial discount include Spring Awakening, The Color Purple, Wicked, The NYC Opera, and many more. Ticket Central helps many NYU groups obtain affordable group tickets. Not only does Ticket Central provide discount tickets on site, we’ve successfully negotiated special ticket prices for NYU students at theatre box offices throughout NYC. Many of these spectacular offers can be purchased online through students’ NYUHome accounts!

NYU Ticket Central has built a reputation for itself as being able to reach a large audience in a moment’s notice. Each week, numerous theatre producers and promoters rely on Ticket Central to help them fill their houses. NYU students have enjoyed free admission to preview performances of many Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, as well as performances at The NYC Ballet, Performance Space 122 and The Public Theatre.
Into sports?
Ticket Central offers the NYU community great discounts to many exciting professional baseball, basketball and hockey events. This year, Ticket Central has been able to sell tickets for NY Knicks basketball games at Madison Square Garden for $12 and NY Mets baseball games at Shea Stadium for $3.
Movies?
Of course, perhaps what Ticket Central is most famous for is our great selection of discount movie passes. NYU students, faculty and staff enjoy a savings of up to 40% off the regular price of movie tickets. Ticket Central’s menu of discount movie passes include those for many theatres near campus, including Regal/United Artists, AMC/Loews, The Angelika Film Center, and Clearview Cinemas. Many of these passes never expire! All can be used at theatres nationwide.
How about events on-campus?
Ticket Central works closely with many groups on campus to promote and sell tickets to their concerts, cultural events, celebrations and lectures. We are also the exclusive outlet for the NYU Program Board’s free advance movie screening passes. We work with the Student Resource Center to help them sell tickets and distribute passes to events scheduled for All University Orientation, Parents’ Weekend, and Senior Week.

With so much going on at Ticket Central, we are continually trying to find new and creative ways to spread the word to the NYU community. Currently, we send out a list of offerings on our email listserv 2-3 times each week. Ticket Central directly reaches over 18,000 students via its listserv. In addition, Ticket Central publishes a one-page weekly newsletter. Ticket Central’s web site has undergone significant improvements – it is clearer, better organized, and more frequently updated than in the past. As always, Ticket Central’s hotline (212-998-4949) is a convenient way for students to stay informed of upcoming ticket sales at Ticket Central.
