On March 7, 2008, Executive Vice President Michael C. Alfano sent an email to the NYU community outlining the University's plans for administrative re-engineering and achieving $25 million in administrative savings that could be directed to supporting financial aid and our academic enterprise. One of the key elements in improving administrative efficiency at the University was the establishment of five task forces led by deans -- on information technology, construction and facilities management, human resources policies, revenue programs, and university finance systems -- to bring a fresh perspective and offer recommendations on these University management functions.
We have created this page as an information resource on the work of these task forces -- their leadership, their membership, and notes and documents the task forces thought were relevant -- so that members of the NYU community could keep abreast of their progress and engage the work being done, if they so desire. We hope that you will check the site frequently; if you want to provide feedback or input, please feel free to send your comments to any of the task force chairs.
