Advocate Application Form

Interested in Becoming an Advocate?

Thank you for your interest in the Sustainability Advocate program! We appreciate your enthusiasm. Before filling out the form, please understand that:

  • Filling out this form does not guarantee you will become an Advocate. We are thankful for all the attention the Advocate program receives, but unfortunately will not be able to accept all comers as Advocates. We are grateful for your interest and will keep your name.
  • We may contact your supervisor to let them know you've requested to be an Advocate, as it will take their approval for you to do Advocate work during your normal work hours, and we'd like to have their support. Otherwise, it will be considered time you're volunteering.
  • We do not have opportunities for students (unless you're also an NYU employee) to be Advocates at this time. If you're a student who's interested, please contact to get on our email list so that we can get in touch as opportunities arise.

Please complete all form fields.

Why you want to become an Advocate

Why do you want to become a Sustainability Advocate?

What are some opportunities for ecological improvement in your area?

What is your past experience with environmental issues and action?

How did you hear about the Sustainability Advocates program?

Is there anything else you would like us to know?

Take responsibility for an office area

As an Advocate, we ask you to lead sustainability efforts in your office area. Our goal is to have at least one Advocate in every office area at NYU.

After training, which office area would you like to take responsibility for as an Advocate? In some cases, this could be your entire floor(s); in other cases it may be a subsection of a floor.

If you would like to, how would you share responsibility for this area with additional staff?
