Meal Plans
A meal plan is required for residents living in traditional halls (your meal plan must be active for the same weeks as your room stay). If you requested an apartment-style hall but were assigned to a traditional hall, and you did not select a meal plan on your application, you were placed on a seven-meal plan.
Dining Halls are generally open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (hours may differ between locations). An NYUCard (photo ID) is required for access to dining halls.
Meal allowance reflects the number of meals you are allocated each week. Each time you enter the dining facility, one meal is subtracted from your plan account. Unused meals do not carry over week to week.
Dining Dollars are accepted as cash in all NYU dining locations. They work on the same principle as debit cards. You can use your Dining Dollars to purchase beverages, snacks or full meals from dining locations and the total amount is subtracted from your balance. Unused Dining Dollars carry over week to week. Unused Dining Dollars, at the end of your license period, are not refundable. Please note that Dining Dollars are not the same as Campus Cash.
The following meal plans are available for Summer 2009:
- 10 meals and $25 Dining Dollars per week, $110 per week
- 7 meals and $30 Dining Dollars per week, $100 per week
- 5 Kosher meals and $20 Dining Dollars per week, $110 per week
