NYU Summer Housing residence halls have an NYU Public Safety officer posted in the lobby of each building 24 hours a day.
NYU Public Safety
In cooperation with the New York City Police Department, security for New York University is provided by the NYU Department of Public Safety. The department is comprised of more than 300 uniformed officers and 45 management personnel. The office operates 24 hours a day servicing 75 NYU related locations. The NYU Department of Public Safety regularly provides vehicular, bicycle, scooter and foot patrols, emergency team response, and safety rides.
All residence halls have a Public Safety Officer posted in the lobby of the building. When entering their residence hall, residents must show their NYUCard with their hall validation sticker. All guests must be signed in by their resident host.
Additional information about safety and security at NYU is available at www.nyu.edu/public.safety.
Residents will receive residence hall-specific information about fire safety and evacuation procedures when they check-in. Residents and guests who fail to comply fully with applicable fire safety procedures, or who otherwise violate rules and regulations related to fire safety, will be subject to disciplinary action. The use or possession of candles, incense, and halogen lamps is prohibited in all NYU residence halls.
