How to Apply

Before you submit your application, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the types of accommodations we offer, as well as our policies and procedures regarding initial payment, and canceling your reservation.

As part of your application, you will be required to review and agree to the terms and conditions of the 2016 Summer Housing License.

Please Note The Following:

  • Once your application is complete, it will take approximately 4 weeks to process.
  • The priority deadline for application submission for current NYU students and non-NYU students enrolling at NYU this summer is March 25, 2016.
  • Non-NYU, non-affiliated applicants are assigned on a first come, first serve basis contingent on the availability of space.

    1. NYUHome Account Registration - Available Now!

    New Applicants

    If you do not have an NYU identification number, you will need to generate an NYU identification number and create an NYUHome account. This process typically takes up to three business days to complete.

    Returning Applicants

    If you are not an NYU student but you have stayed in NYU Summer Housing in the past, you must complete this registration to reactivate your NYU Home access. This process typically takes up to three business days to complete.

    Current NYU Students & Enrolled Applicants

    Current NYU students do not need to register for NYUHome accounts. Applicants enrolled in courses at NYU should receive NYU identification numbers and NYUHome access through their enrollment process.

    2. Apply Online - Available February 17th

    The NYU Summer Housing application will be available online through the applicant's NYUHome account on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 17, 2016.

    Applicants will provide affiliation information, reservation dates, residence hall preferences, and roommate/suitemate requests on the application.

    3. Application Reservation Payment - Available February 17th

    Applicants are required to submit a $500 reservation payment with their application for Summer Housing.

    The $500 reservation payment will be credited to the applicant's account and will count towards overall summer housing costs. Please note, all requests to cancel NYU Summer Housing are subject to a cancellation fee.

    Applicants may submit payment online or by mailing in a check or money order. Applications are not complete until payment is received.

    Special Accommodation Requests

    In accordance with the applicable local, state, and federal disability laws, New York University will provide reasonable accommodations for an individual eligible to reside in Summer Housing who has a qualifying physical or mental disability.

    For information about submitting a reasonable housing accommodation application, please visit the NYU Moses Center for Students with Disabilities website. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Moses Center via email at housing.summer.medical@nyu.edu.

    The deadline for summer residents with a confirmed reservation to submit documentation to the Moses Center is April 1, 2016. Documentation submitted after this date will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

    Applicants Under 18

    Applicants under the age of 18 may apply online provided they will be actively participating in an NYU sponsored high school program during their residency.
