Payment Information

Upon submission of the Summer Housing application, applicants must submit payment for either the full amount of the estimated charges or, minimally, a payment equal to the estimated housing and dining charges for three weeks.

Charges are calculated based on your first preference (hall and room type), enrollment status (enrolled or associate) and if applicable, meal plan.  If full payment is not submitted with the application, the remaining balance must be paid in full by the end of the first week of your reservation.

The following payment options are available when applying online:

• Credit Card: American Express, Discover Card, and Master Card are accepted.  VISA is not accepted.  All payments made by credit card are processed for NYU by Bill Matrix. Bill Matrix will assess a nonrefundable convenience fee of 2.5% of the amount of the credit card payment to the cardholder.  Please note that upon entering credit card payment, the credit card payment will be processed.  If NYU Summer Housing is unable to offer housing, the credit card payment will be fully refunded (except for the nonrefundable convenience fee).
• Personal Check: Online check payments are processed for NYU by NoCheck, which will debit funds directly from a checking account. The checking account must be from a US based bank that allows ACH transactions (ACH is an electronic network for financial transactions in the US). Applicants must be able to provide their checking account number as well as their bank's routing number (both of these numbers can be found on a blank check). Please note that upon entering payment, your checking account will be debited for the payment amount.  If NYU Summer Housing is unable to offer housing, the payment will be fully refunded. NYU will assess a $45 fee for any returned NoCheck payment.
• Payment by Mail: Applicants who wish to pay by money order or are unable to utilize other payment options may submit payment by mail. Payments by mail must be received by NYU Summer Housing within one week of application completion. Checks or money orders must be made payable to "New York University." NYU Summer Housing does not accept cash or wire transfers for initial payment. Please note, applications are not considered complete until payment is received.
