Applying is a two-step process for all the summer programs detailed below. To apply, please complete the Summer in NYC application form. Once your information has been processed, you will receive your enrollment letter via email and be able to register for summer courses.

Summer in NYC

Take advantage of all NYU has to offer by choosing up to two courses during each of our six-week sessions. You'll have the flexibility to create your own schedule and select courses from one of our nine colleges! Learn more.

Cultural Capital: Media and the Arts in NYC

NYU’s Cultural Capital program is designed to enrich your summer experience and deepen your understanding of the intersection of media, culture, economics, and the arts in one of the world's great capitals of culture and ideas - New York City. Learn more.

Writers in NY

Students focus on poetry or fiction and attend daily writing workshops and craft sessions. Classes are supplemented by readings and lectures by New York-based writers and publishing professionals. Field trips, cultural activities, readings, and guest lectures constitute an integral component of the program. Learn more.

Hyperlocal Newsroom Summer

Intern, assist, edit, report, shoot, write or learn multimedia skills from top New York Times journalists, reporters, and editors right here in New York City! The program is centered on the NYTimes.com community news site, The Local East Village, a collaboration of The New York Times and the Institute. Learn more.

Global Social Change Leadership Institute

This noncredit two-week intensive program consists of hands-on, interactive workshops and presentations by experts at the forefront of public service and policy. Participants strengthen their leadership skills, learn about cutting-edge research on leadership and social change, and visit various organizations and historic landmarks across New York City to see what makes advocates and organizations the leaders in advancing social justice.
