Gallatin School of Individualized Study

Unique among NYU's schools, Gallatin offers innovative approaches to learning through individualized, interdisciplinary, and nontraditional programs of study. Students combine course work with independent study and internships to create their own concentrations.

Gallatin's intensive Summer Travel Courses are small, discussion-based seminars with Gallatin faculty that are designed to provide a unique and in-depth exploration of a particular cultural or historical topic found within a foreign country or region. Students experience each location hands-on through visits to museums, galleries, and various sites of historical, cultural, and political significance. Discovery, discussions, and readings are designed to provide broad and in-depth understanding for students visiting another country and to prepare them for lifelong journeys of exploration.

Gallatin is looking for dedicated, inquisitive students who are eager to build a community with professors and fellow students while abroad.
