Program Summary:
Dublin is a vibrant city with a wealth of historic monuments, cathedrals and castles, theatres, museums, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. Despite its age, Dublin resonates with a very youthful energy. The dramatic growth of the population within recent years provides an ever-changing economic, political and artistic backdrop.
The summer program offers two courses in producing. The program offers students an opportunity to study this field as an art form and business profession. Students are introduced to the basic concepts, terms, and principles that apply to the role of producer in the entertainment and media industries. Students discover the origins of the production practices that are employed in the entertainment industry today by following the legendary characters, movie moguls, and media titans of the early 20th century and the companies they built.
Academics:
Most of the classes will take place at the Tisch Dublin Centre, in the Temple Bar district. The centre includes a classroom, seminar room with editing facility, director's office, student lounge and a computer lab (wireless available).
