Step-by-Step Instructions
Once you have determined whether you are eligible to participate in NYU Summer in Greenwich Village, please follow the steps below to submit your NYU Summer 2009 Registration Form:
1. Select your courses:
View the courses being offered this summer. You can search courses by school, academic area, and by department. Review the course description and make note of any restrictions on enrollment or prerequisites. Prerequisites do not limit participation; rather, they are listed to help you choose courses at the right level for you.
- NOTE: NYU uses the word "points" instead of "credits," and students may register for up to 8 points per six-week session.
2. Complete the registration form:
Download the registration form or complete the paper application enclosed in the Summer in Greenwich Village Registration Guide.
3. Calculate tuition and fees:
Tuition and fees are determined according to how many "points/credits" your course is worth and by the school in which your course is held.
- Multiply the tuition amount for the school in which your course is held (view the tuition and fees schedule) by the number of points your course is worth.
- To get your grand total, add any course-specific or lab fees, which will be listed in the course description, and the University services fee to the tuition amount. View a sample calculation.
- If you are a family member of an NYU employee and will be paying with tuition remission, please follow these instructions for calcuating your fees. For information about submitting Tuition Remission forms, visit Office of the Bursar.
4. Determine payment method:
There are several options for making payment. You may do one of the following:
- Submit a check or money order, made payable to New York University
- Pay via credit card. NYU accepts Mastercard, American Express, and Discover only—NYU does not accept Visa. Please note there is a 2.5% service charge for credit card payments.
- Send funds via wire transfer. View instructions.
- NYU cannot offer financial aid to non-NYU students. If you require financial assistance and will be paying via a consortium agreement from your home institution or with private loans, please view these instructions for submitting your registration.
5. Submit your registration form and payment:
Forms can be submitted by mail or by fax according to the deadlines listed below. Payment must also be received before your registration can be processed. Beginning April 24th, you will also be able to register in person according to the instructions below.
Notification:
If there are any problems with your registration, the Office of Special Sessions will contact you via email to resolve the issue. Otherwise, once your registration is processed, you will receive an email with your student ID number (N number) and further instructions. A Welcome Packet will also be mailed to your current address.
Note: Processing time for mailed/faxed registrations is 2-3 weeks from the time we receive both your registration form and payment. Please note that registrations are processed in the order they are received, so we are unable to process your registration until we have completed all other registrations previously submitted. If you require immediate notification, you must attend in-person registration which begins April 24th, 2009.
