Confirm Schedule
Now that you are registered for NYU summer courses, there are a few remaining steps that you should complete before the first day of classes. Use the following online tools to view your email, course schedule, classroom location, grades, account balance, and more.
Access NYU Home and Albert
Activate your Net ID
Your NetID is a letter-number combination, usually consisting of your initials and some random numbers, e.g. lrs273. Your NetID is your login and username for your NYU email account and your email address will appear as "YourNetId"@nyu.edu, e.g. lrs273@nyu.edu.
1. Go to http://start.nyu.edu
2. Click on the "START!" button on the top of the page under the heading, "Don't know your NetID?"
3. Enter your NYU University ID number and date of birth. Leave the email line blank. (Your NYU University ID number begins with the letter "N" and can be located in your admissions/registration materials.) Click, "CONTINUE."
4. Your NetID should appear on the top of the page. Please remember your NetID or print the page for your records.
5. Now you must set a password. This should be at least 8 characters long and consist of letters, numbers, and special characters, e.g. newyork?1 Now that you have learned your NetID and set your password you can login to NYUHome.
Login to NYUHome
NYUHome is the web interface for the University's email service and other online tools.
1. Go to http://home.nyu.edu
2. Type your NetID and the password you set while activating your NetID. Click "GO".
(If you don’t remember your password, return to http://start.nyu.edu,
enter your NetID at the bottom of the page, and follow the instructions to reset your password.)
You should now be at the Welcome Screen for NYUHome. Visit the various tabs to familiarize yourself with
the layout and information available on Home.
Login to Albert
Albert displays your schedule, classroom location, and final grades.
1. If you are not already in NYUHome, login now (http://home.nyu.edu). On the Welcome Screen, click on the tab labeled "ACADEMICS." You must always login to NYUHome in order to access Albert.
2. On the left side of the Academics page, there is a heading that says "Albert for Students." Click the "Student Login" link below this heading.
3. You should now be at the Albert welcome screen where you can view the student records menu. Select "Student Schedule" to see the days/times your course(s) meet, the classroom, and the building location.
* To view your records, select:
- School/Level: "Summer Session (nondegree students)"
- Term: "Summer Semester, 2009"
4. Once the summer session is over, select "Final Grades" to see your grades. Keep in mind that it can take 2-3 weeks after the end of the session for your grades to be posted.
When viewing your schedule, the name of you classroom building will be abbreviated. Click on the "BLDG" link and an index will open with the full name of the building. Use the campus map online or in the welcome packet to locate your building.
