Inter-Residence Hall Council of New York University

On behalf of the Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC), I would like to welcome you to our website. The IRHC recognizes how important you are to the growth and the development of our organization. We also understand that the transition to college life is a difficult one and so our aim is to improve the quality of residence life for your child such that his/her experience at New York University is both enjoyable and memorable. We are so appreciative of your support. Without your contribution through the linens and refrigerator programs, we would not be able to provide leadership, community service and programmatic opportunities for your child. Below you find information about our vendor programs as well as links to their websites. We encourage you to take advantage of these services.

Throughout the year you will get a number of mailings from the IRHC. These mailings primarily deal with our following vendor programs and are of interest to you as a parent. If you receive an empty envelope please contact us and include your student's name, the address, and the postmark so we can send out a replacement mailing.

Residence Hall Linens: is a program we participate in with On Campus Marketing. It allows parents to purchase comforters, extra-long linens, towels, hampers, etc. for college rooms. The linens are then shipped directly to the homes during the summer so that students will have them prior to move-in day.

Refrigerator Rental Program: Please visit the link at left and click on "NYU" at the bottom of the page for information on how to rent a refrigerator. Cecil Distributors provides HotCold units (refrigerator and microwave) that parents can rent for their children. This program is especially useful for students who live in traditional residence halls ( Rubin, Brittany, Hayden, Goddard) that do not provide a kitchen.

Care Packages
We offer four different care packages throughout the academic year: a Welcome Kit, a Halloweek Pack, a Valentine's Day Pack and a Finals Kit. These packages are distributed through On Campus Marketing. This is a nice way for you to give your student a package of goodies to let them know you're thinking about them. You can order via our mailings or by calling 1-800-892-8741.

We encourage your child to become active in their residential communities as well as the Inter-Residence Hall Council. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, grow as a leader and affect change within and beyond the university. Again we thank you for your support and help.
